The #1 New York Times Bestseller | Now a Disney+ Series
Percy Jackson, a 12-year-old boy, discovers that he is the son of Poseidon in this exciting and humorous start to Rick Riordan’s bestselling fantasy series, perfect for readers ages 10 and up.
In the eBook edition of The Lightning Thief, Percy’s life takes a wild turn as he finds himself in constant trouble at boarding school. He can’t just stand by when a bully picks on his best friend, or ignore it when his teacher turns into a monster and tries to kill him. Soon, Percy’s world collides with the mythological, as creatures from his Greek mythology book start appearing in real life. To make matters worse, Percy is accused of stealing Zeus’s powerful lightning bolt, and he’s the prime suspect.
Joined by his friends Grover the satyr and Annabeth, the demigod daughter of Athena, Percy embarks on a dangerous journey across the country to retrieve the stolen bolt and prevent a war among the gods on Mount Olympus. Their quest leads them to the Underworld in Los Angeles, where they must face enemies determined to stop them at all costs.
With millions of copies sold and more than a decade on the New York Times bestseller list, Percy Jackson has been adapted into movies, a Broadway musical, and a Disney+ series, continuing to capture the hearts of fans in classrooms and libraries worldwide.

Gabriela Lubascher Miragaia –
The book is very easy to read. The trickiest words are about the parts of the gods and monsters, but nothing a quick dictionary search won’t solve. I’m reading with my students and we’re loving it! The book is also cool because it introduces the concepts of Greek Mythology.

I loved the book and finished it quickly and easily. The humor was great and the cliffhanger gives a nice kind of relief but also suspense!

The characters are well rounded and the story line kept me reading every chance I could. I can’t wait to read the next book. I recommend this book to everyone.
