In this “brave and heartbreaking novel that digs its claws into you and doesn’t let go” (Anna Todd, New York Times bestselling author), from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of All Your Perfects, a driven workaholic with a seemingly perfect romance can’t stop thinking about her first love.
Description
Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but she’s never let that stop her from working toward the life she wants. From growing up in a small town to graduating college, moving to Boston, and starting her own business, Lily has built a life she’s proud of. When she meets Ryle Kincaid, a handsome neurosurgeon, everything seems to fall into place, and Lily feels like her life is finally too good to be true.
Ryle is assertive, stubborn, and maybe a little arrogant, but he’s also brilliant, sensitive, and has a soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her mind. But Ryle’s strong aversion to relationships raises red flags. Despite becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, Lily can’t help but wonder why he’s so opposed to love in the first place.
As questions about her new relationship begin to overwhelm her, memories of her first love, Atlas Corrigan, begin to resurface. Atlas was her kindred spirit, her protector, and a connection to the past she thought she’d left behind. When Atlas suddenly reappears, Lily finds herself torn between the life she’s built with Ryle and the love she’s never truly gotten over.

I haven’t read any books for a few years so this was my taster back into reading. It was an easy read, the plot is easy to hold onto and like most books do, everything falls into place. Things from the start of the book are answered by the end. The author does a great job at making the reader fall in love with Ryle, then pulling us back. This shows only one example of abusive relationships but it reveals all the real, raw emotions that come with that. I’m sure a lot of people can relate to this story, it’s never too late to speak up. “Just keep swimming”

It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover is an emotional novel about love, abuse, and self-discovery. The story follows Lily Bloom as she navigates complex relationships, with the book addressing domestic abuse sensitively. The characters are well-developed, and the narrative evokes a range of emotions, making it both compelling and important. While the subject is heavy, the novel ultimately highlights resilience and the courage to break free from harmful patterns. Overall, it’s a powerful and thought-provoking read that leaves a lasting impact.
