NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
In this hilarious and candid memoir, Mindy Kaling, creator of The Mindy Project and Never Have I Ever, invites readers into her world with her signature humor and unscientific takes on romance, friendship, and Hollywood.
“[Kaling is] like Tina Fey’s cool little sister. Or perhaps… the next Nora Ephron.” — The New York Times
Mindy Kaling has had many lives: the dutiful child of immigrant parents, a shy, chubby kid afraid of her own bike, a Ben Affleck impersonator on Off-Broadway, and eventually, a comedy writer and actress known for starting debates with the phrase “Can I just say one last thing about this, and then I swear I’ll shut up about it?”
Description
Inside Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?, Mindy reveals what makes a great best friend (someone who will fill your prescription in the middle of the night), a great guy (one who is aware of every elderly person in the room and acts accordingly), and the perfect amount of fame (so famous that you can’t be convicted of murder). As for maintaining a trim figure? Well, that’s not covered here.
With plenty of convenient breaks for errands and phone calls, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? proves that Mindy Kaling is exactly the kind of girl-next-door you’d want to hang out with—if, of course, you happen to live in India or Sri Lanka.

I was looking for a fun book to break up the stories I had been reading lately and came across this one. Mindy Kaling delivered exactly what I needed. Funny, light-hearted stories and rambling thoughts. Provided insights on her upbringing and path to working on The Office show. Super enjoyable read and if you listen to the audiobook it’s really like listening to a good friend make you laugh. Loved it!
