Fangirl (Italian Edition) by Rainbow Rowell

(3 customer reviews)

Cath is a huge fan of Simon Snow. Okay, pretty much everyone is, but for Cath, being a fan is everything—and she’s really good at it. She and her twin sister, Wren, immersed themselves in the Simon Snow series as kids, using it to cope with their mother’s departure.

Description

Reading, rereading, participating in Simon Snow forums, writing fanfiction, and dressing up for every movie premiere became their world. But now, Wren has outgrown the fandom, and Cath hasn’t. She doesn’t want to.

As they head to college, Wren announces she doesn’t want to be roommates, leaving Cath to navigate this new chapter alone. Suddenly, Cath finds herself in unfamiliar territory—with a surly roommate and her charming, ever-present boyfriend; a professor who dismisses fanfiction as worthless; and a handsome classmate who only wants to talk about words. On top of all this, Cath worries about her fragile, loving dad, who’s never been on his own.

The big question for Cath is: Can she handle college without Wren by her side? Is she ready to live her own life, and does that mean letting go of Simon Snow forever?

So many great characters to follow and fall in love with! “Fangirl” recreates the excitement wrapped into the first year of college with all the uncertainties, misadventures, and eclectic college students. Cath was an amazing character study—seeing the world through her eyes broadened the way I look at the world and gave me better understanding of the limitations others deal with in social situations. And don’t even get me started on the Fandom aspect! (Carry On!)

Favorite quote (how to narrow it down to something that would fit in a post AND that someone would understand without all the great context!)
“Levi’s eyebrows were pr0rn0graphic. If Cath were making this decision just on eyebrows, she would have been “up to his room” a long time ago.”

This book was cute. I love that Cath does the fanfiction on The Simon Snow Series, I also like that the book gives us little snippets of Simon and Baz from before the first book! I also liked Levi and that he called Cath Chather it was really sweet that he was always there for She 🥹 so cute! I definitely recommend this book. I rate this book 4.75/5⭐️
