A Timeless Allegory of the Journey from Hell to Heaven

Description

In The Great Divorce, C. S. Lewis once again showcases his masterful use of fable and allegory. The story begins with the writer boarding a bus in Hell, destined for Heaven. The remarkable twist is that anyone who wishes can stay in Heaven, should they choose. This sets the stage for a profound exploration of good and evil, grace and judgment. Lewis’s groundbreaking revelation is that the gates of Hell are locked from the inside. With his exceptional descriptive skill, The Great Divorce invites readers to rethink their understanding of good, evil, and the choices that shape our fate.

I absolutely love this book! Is this Heaven or is this Hell… the answer is Yes! Lewis has a way of bringing life’s most contemplated questions into a fictional story that allows you to see possible answers to them in ways you couldn’t before. My Lord God is Great! I hope I never end up taking the bus ride in the first place but if I do… I’m STAYING and going to the mountain! C.S. Lewis is a genuine treasure!

What a great story with so many truths embedded. Take them to heart and you will always remember them. C. S. Lewis is a master craftsman and can send truth your way with a great story.

Hauntingly beautiful in his description of what hell would be like. C. S. Lewis does more with few words and with the gift of imagination than I could do in a volume of encyclopedias.

I’m glad he is on OUR side. Bravo!
